Dr. Sonya Graci Director and Principal

DR. SONYA GRACI is a specialist in sustainable tourism, corporate sustainability, stakeholder management, community capacity development and environmental management. She has more than 15 years experience in the field. Dr. Graci’s passion is working with stakeholders towards achieving a common goal of sustainability. She has worked with numerous communities and organizations to develop their sustainability strategies and has facilitated several training programs and workshops. She has also led extensive consultation with stakeholders in communities across North America, Central America, and Asia.

Dr. Graci spent seven years working with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. She participated mainly in environmental assessment but also played a large part in developing beyond compliance partnerships between the government and chemical industry, as well as playing a role in the development of Ontario’s environmental leaders program.

Dr. Graci is currently an Assistant Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada. She is a co-founder and member of the Board of Directors for the Icarus Foundation, a not-for-profit environmental, policy, research and education organization focused on sustaining a climate friendly tourism industry and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. The focus of her Ph.D. was on corporate social responsibility and sustainable tourism partnership development. Dr. Graci has also authored numerous publications and two books.
